Don Rosa (born June 29, 1951) is an American comic book writer and illustrator. He is best known for his work on Disney's Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comics. Rosa began drawing at the age of five, and later studied art at the University of Kentucky. He first started drawing comics in the 1970s for various underground and fan publications. In 1987 he was asked by Disney to write and draw a new series of Uncle Scrooge comics, which he did for several years. Rosa is known for his careful attention to detail and his love of history and research. He has won multiple awards for his work, including the prestigious Eisner Award.
